This is an old European heirloom that has been in cultivation since 1890. The blue-green plants are stout and compact at 60-90cm (24-36") with 8-10cm (3-4") heads that don’t come uniformly as on hybrid broccoli, but are super productive, and are followed by a multitude of side shoots over a long period. Di Cicco broccoli is a very good choice for freezing. Great for growing in raised beds, with an excellent flavour.
Companions: Beets, camomile, dill, rosemary, sage, mint, celery, potatoes, onions, nasturtiums, marigolds
